The Center, a nonpartisan research organization and policy institute, conducts research
and analysis on a range of government policies and programs, with an emphasis on those
affecting low- and moderate-income people.
Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP)
CLASP is a national non-profit organization with expertise in both law and policy
affecting the poor. Through education, policy research and advocacy, CLASP seeks to
improve the economic conditions of low-income families with children and secure access for
the poor to our civil justice system.

ACF is the agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services with primary
responsibility for TANF. The website has caseload statistics, funding information,
guidance documents on the federal law, and links to state TANF agencies.
The Urban Institute's Assessing the New
Federalism Project
This project is tracking state policies and programs on health care, income security, job
training, and child well-being. Resources available at the website include the State
Database, which has hundreds of variables on caseloads, demographics, child well-being,
and economic factors.
Welfare Information Network
Extensive information on a wide range of welfare issues, with reports from many sources
and links to state and federal websites.
